At the 2006 STLP Regional Showcase at UK, Providence
Elementary School's STLP club qualified for the state competition in
May with a score of 97 out of a possible 100 points. The club
-- which consists of three students -- created a video entitled
"Spreading the News". The students planned, shot, and edited a
piece that highlighted a new teacher in their school, as well as a
staple of the Winchester community, the Ale-8 bottling company.
This, the kids hope, will be the first in a series of videos which
orient the public to their school and community.
