Classroom Ideas with Technology

1.  Use SMARTBoard to do an interactive lesson... Riverdeep Math/Reading... Powerpoint... Moviemaker
2.  Claymation--coming up with a story, storyboarding it, making the clay figures and background, taking digital pictures, using Moviemaker or some editing software to put a movie together.
3.  Have students do an e-mail project with another classroom.  E-mail class papers to have them critiqued.  Have the other class use the "highlighter" option in Word to show areas that need improvement or they can use the "notes" option to leave specific notes as to corrections to be made.
4.  Create a teacher webpage that students can reference.
5.  Digital Storytelling--have the students write a story (which is the main focus of this use of technology), storyboard the story, find or scan pictures that go with the story, add voiceovers and music.
6.  Teachers use United Streaming video clips to enhance instruction; use in Powerpoint lessons; use as stand-alone videos.

7.  Use Powerpoint/Moviemaker/PhotoStory to make an electronic book about yourself.  Ask students to come up with things such as:  favorite color, eye color, birthday, favorite foods, about their pets, 5 words that describe them, what bugs them, favorite tv shows or computer games, their fingerprint, favorite movies, favorite movie star, sports & hobbies, best school subjects, when they are sad--they like to do what, when they are glad they like to do, one word to describe me.  Find appropriate pictures on internet, scan pictures, or draw an image and scan it to provide graphics for the project.
